Networking Your Personal Brand

Thanks to the wonderful group of individuals who attended last night’s Wired4Hire session.  We had a lively debate and I appreciated all the positive feedback.  I also understand some of the frustrations which were shared and can only say that your job seeking efforts will pay off.

Attached is the deck I presented.   The topic we discussed was about building a professional presence or brand before you start networking so that when you network you are coming from a place of authority.  I hope you find it useful!

I also welcome anyone who is interested in hearing it via conference call and shared desktop to join me Thursday, February 28th at noon EST when I will be offering you a chance to join the conversation virtually.

As soon as the conference call is booked it will be listed on our events page.  Anyone who would like to attend can also email Julie Skorny at jskorny@mgdservices.com and she will include you on the call.

Flexing your influence to find a job

Cheers,

g

It was a pleasure to attend this session.

You made one point that I hadn’t considered before, which was that I appear to be having fun with my job search efforts. Now that you pointed it out, I definitely agree. I’ve had the opportunity to network in ways I hadn’t before, both with social media and in person. I’ve broadened my horizons, improved my skills, and met a lot of interesting people. I’ve learned a lot which is beneficial no matter the ultimate outcome. I’m also helping other job seekers in whatever way I can. Sometimes the effort seems to move very slowly, largely due to the time limitations of my day job. Being that that job is insecure, I’d love to be able to land a new position before anything happens. But whatever happens, I keep moving in a forward direction”.

Good post made here. One thing I would like to say is most professional areas consider the Bachelor Degree as the entry level standard for an online college degree. While Associate Diplomas are a great way to start out, completing your own Bachelors presents you with many doors to various careers, there are numerous online Bachelor Course Programs available via institutions like The University of Phoenix, Intercontinental University Online and Kaplan. Another concern is that many brick and mortar institutions offer you Online variants of their qualifications but commonly for a greatly higher amount of money than the providers that specialize in online college degree programs.
