Exceptional client seeks outstanding Human Factors Engineer who will work closely with Product Designer and Planners to propose and conduct usability research activities consisting of both Strategic and Tactical studies.

Job Responsibilities:

The Sr. Human Factors Engineer works closely with Product Designer and Planners to propose, plan and conduct usability research activities consisting of both Strategic and Tactical studies. These skills will be applied to numerous products within the organization but will be primarily focused on the flagship offerings.

Job Responsibilities:
• Manage and consult on all aspects of Usability research and evaluation of web-based products and services.
• Propose, plan, facilitate, moderate and analyze results from usability testing, user research, focus groups and market research.
• Communicate research findings to product teams and recommend design and functionality improvements.
• Lead heuristic reviews of products at various stages of the design process.
• Participate in user profile definition, ethnography/personae, and use case development.
• Identify, prioritize, and propose resolutions to usability issues throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage user research participant recruiting and/or be the point of contact with outside recruiting and UX facility/laboratory firms.
• Coordinate, track and budget for usability studies that require outside recruiting and UX facility/laboratory firms.
• Help educate and guide strategic user experience initiatives that promote a user-centered design approach.
• Influence the broader product development teams to implement solutions that are best for the user in the context of overall business drivers, goals and vision and participate in the iterative design process.

Qualifications:
• MS or MA in Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, or Interaction Design preferred.
• Minimum 7 years professional experience in interactive design and usability engineering preferably with high-volume B2C and B2B offerings
• Expert knowledge of human factors, cognitive processes, user-centered design processes, interaction design guidelines, usability methodologies, industry standards and trends, both formal and informal usability testing methods, remote usability testing, as well as a deep understanding of web technology and Enterprise Software.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills are essential.
• Experience with TechSmith Morae for usability testing.
• Ability to communicate clearly both in person and in writing.
• Experience with user interface requirements documentation and workflow diagramming.
• Skilled at influencing product development teams to implement customer-centric solutions.
• Thorough understanding of iterative user experience design process within an Agile SDLC.
• Ability to think creatively and to champion innovative design solutions.
• Self-starter who can work and communicate effectively within multi-disciplinary and multi-national teams.
• General willingness to do what it takes to design fabulous products that delight our users!
