Web Developer

We are in search of a Web Developer who designs, develops, and implements software packages for web sites and troubleshoots, debugs and implements user interface layer software code.

The Web Developer is responsible for working with customers and designers to build websites. This includes xHTML and CSS coding, assisting in the QA, testing and the actual publishing of the websites. The candidate may also assist in providing back-up design support when needed

Responsibilities
• Implement user interface designs from UI specification and product requirements
• Collaborate with Human Factors Engineers and other related disciplines in the creation of User Interface designs
• Translate screenshots (images) into XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript with attention to cross-browser compatibility and WCAG/Section 508 accessibility guidelines
• Assist software engineers with implementation of client-side code in a multi-tiered environment
• Build site pages, unit test, and support the implementation of customer web sites
• Analyze and document user requirements.
• Maintain and update new and existing customer websites
• Acquire and maintain knowledge of current standards, policies and procedures
• Collaborate with other team members and cross-functional units to ensure quality
• Maintain and develop technical skills to keep current in systems programming and analysis techniques
• Provide back-up design assistance when needed

Qualifications
• A degree in a technical subject or 4+ years experience in the web development field
• Expert level CSS and XHTML capabilities required
• Fluency in CSS table-less layouts (‘zen garden’) required
• A high level of proficiency with JavaScript, and DOM scripting required
• Knowledge of JSP and XSLT required
• Experience managing and organizing source code revisions and files required
• Experience integrating front-end code with one or more server-side languages
• Experience in working with off-shore engineering resources (non-US) is a plus
• Knowledge of web technologies such as application and web servers, .NET, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives
• Innovative, creative problem solver with an eye for detail and accuracy
• Experience with SiteCore Content Management System is a big plus
