Basic Job Function: The Manager, Product Planning will be primarily focused on conversion driving initiatives for our flagship websites, largely leveraging multivariable testing. Additionally, this manager will drive new feature and functionality requirements for Lawyers.com including search, mobile optimization, web 2.0/3.0 initiatives & other enhancements as necessary. This position is also responsible for leading product development teams to execute on the feature roadmap for optimal consumer user experience on Lawyers.com thereby maximizing revenue and profit for the LexisNexis Client Development solution line. Responsibilities: 1. Manage all multivariable testing efforts across Lawyers.com and martindale.com. a. Identify goals, implement tests, monitor results and plan implementation of winning tests. b. Manage day to day interactions with 3rd party testing vendor. 2. Manage & drive new features/offerings including search upgrades, mobile optimization, web 2.0/3.0 & social media initiatives through the product development process and life cycle from inception to delivery. 3. Gather, validate, and evaluate requirements through market, user, and competitive research. 4. Define features and benefits for new and existing site functionality, including writing detailed business requirements documents. 5. Manage implementation by collaborating and maintaining superior working relationships with development, user experience, QA, operations, customer service, marketing, sales, editorial, business development, and finance teams. 6. Monitor the release process and prioritize the placement of new products or enhancements in a release, balancing organizational objectives, product strategy, and market needs. 7. Serve as the internal and external champion for the specified features. Qualifications: 1. Undergraduate degree required; MBA preferred. 2. Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience, preferably in a product management or equivalent role at internet or software companies. 3. Experience with website multivariable testing strongly desired (Interwoven’s Optimost, Google Optimizer etc.) 4. Results-oriented self-starter who can operate under minimal supervision in an unstructured environment. 5. Knowledge of the product development and evaluation process. Exposure to Agile development a plus. Experience with creating a optimal search experience a plus. 6. Skills required include business acumen, organizational assessment, creativity, interpersonal skills, and quantitative analytical abilities. 7. Must be an outstanding communicator and be comfortable interacting with a diverse group of technical and non-technical people including senior executives, sales, marketing, development, operations, customers and business partners. 8. Demonstrated ability to manage effectively within a matrix organization and to lead and participate effectively on cross-functional teams. |
